Malaysian Heritage Architecture

Coming from a Malaysian-Chinese family, my heritage and culture is important to my identity as both as a person and graphic designer. I wanted to evoke a sense of Penang through its unique heritage architecture. I was inspired by the colourful and decorative Malaysian shophouses, and its eclectic style of European and Chinese influences.
With intricate motifs on the façades as the focal point, the aim for my work was to merge a contemporary design approach with a historical subject.
